I Don't Know About You, But I'm Feeling 22

This year I felt different...

You know when it's your birthday and people ask you the genric question of "so how do you feel?" and your answer is equally as generic "I feel the same really"

This year I felt different. I felt like I needed to be my own company. I wanted the day to have no structure, I wanted to live in the moment, explore the city and go whereever my feet took me.

While exploring I felt a sense of pride that I can indeed enjoy my own company. It often get's frustrating missing out on opportunities and experiences because you can't find anyone who will agree to come with you. I was never one of those people that could go to the cinema / movies (for my American readers) by themselves or go to a concert or restuarant on there own but that all changed on that day I have now developed that confidence needed to explore the world on my own.

I have noticed that this new found confidence has also influenced a lot of decisions and changes I have been making in my life recently an example of this is making this blog. This blog is forcing me to step out of my comfort zone and explore places and spaces that I would have never gone (most likely never agreed to go) - but since I have to keep you all informed and entertained i'm prepared to put myself of there and see what I have been missing out on in this beautiful world.

I could blame my lack of spontanuity on possible anxiety? or simply because I am a Virgo and I overanalyze every little detail before I make any decisions big or small. I wouldn't say this is a complete negative - I often love this superpower of analysis and intuition, however, at times I must admit it can be crippling especially when I want to embark on new experiences. Everyday I am learning how to balance this so that I don't miss out on new opportunities that I may enjoy and could be extremely beneficial for me.

I believe it is important to have a good friend/ mentor around you who thoughts are similar to yours but their approach is completely different to you, because in my experience they help keep you balanced.
